
A Jefferson woman was recently sentenced for an August incident.
According to court documents, 46-year-old Sarah Schwery pled guilty to a serious misdemeanor for her first offense for an OWI. She had all but two days of a one year jail sentence suspended and was placed on probation for one year with the Boone/Greene County Probation Services.
The charge stemmed from an incident on August 31st. Court documents show Schwery ran a posted stop sign and hit a Greene County School District bus. There were no kids on the bus and the bus driver was uninjured and Schwery was taken to Greene County Medical Center for possible injuries. Schwery was also under the influence of alcohol at the time.
Schwery had all fines and surcharges suspended and was ordered to undergo a 48 hour Alcohol Education Program.
