At the December meeting, the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School Board held its organizational meeting.
Since there were no contested school board elections for the ADM School Board, the three incumbents were re-elected, including Tim Canney, Keith Hockenberry and Nikki West. Then the board president and vice president were elected, and Canney retained the position of president and Bart Banwart was re-elected to serve as board vice president. With no turnover, Superintendent Greg Dufoe is excited to see consistency on the board.
“Well certainly it eliminates the need for onboarding first term board members. This Board is highly functional and is just super in-depth of what they do. So it’s great to be able to just spin this group of five together. You know we won’t have another board election for two years until November of 2025. Just allow us to continue to work well, and work quickly, and so you know it’s a really good thing for us.”
The two board members that will be up for the school board election in 2025 are Banwart and Melissa Dohlman.
