Next week is an important step in the current election year for Iowans.

Iowa House Representative for District 23 Ray Sorensen says that it is important that Iowans attend the caucuses, as there won’t be absentee voting. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio another reason why it’s important.

“You have to get out and get to your caucuses to support your candidate. That’s the only way it works. That’s the only way this caucus truly represents Iowans and what we feel and who we support is if you show up at your caucus location and support your candidate. If you stay at home and just let the people that are very involved in the party decide where this goes, then that’s not Iowa speaking. That’s the Republican party speaking.”

Sorensen mentions that he’d like to see a “We the people” movement, and see Iowans get out on January 15th, attend their caucuses, and vote for their candidate. He adds that with everyone doing so, it will truly reflect who the state believes should be the next candidate for US Presidency.
