The Mary J Barnett Memorial Library is ready to continue the fun this month.
With only a few special events left, Library Director Jerri Hawkins tells Raccoon Valley Radio about some regular programs that they host that everyone can enjoy.
“In January we have our cribbage is on every Monday at 9am. We have bridge class on Wednesday, 9-11am, and those are free and welcome to anybody that lives in the area. You do not have to have a Guthrie Center Library card to attend those. Those are welcome to anybody. We also have our story hour on Friday mornings at 10am.”
Hawkins shares that the Guthrie County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will be holding a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics program on January 15th, and now that there is snow on the ground, there will be plenty of materials to use for it. She mentions that another program that they will be holding is the Boredom Buster Youth Craft Day, where students can come in after school and partake in multiple activities where they can let their imagination and creativity out and make different crafts.
