
Due to weather, auditions for the next performance with the Community Players of Greene County have been canceled today, but there are two other opportunities.
“The Nerd” by Larry Shue is about a young architect who is a military veteran living in Terre Haute, Indiana when Rick Steadman visits him unexpectedly. Steadman has never met the architect who is also a military veteran that was seriously wounded in Vietnam and the architect saves his life. Steadman’s visit comes when the architect is celebrating his 34th birthday. The occasion is thrown into shambles because of Steadman’s awkward manner and inappropriate behavior.
The cast includes four male and two female roles, along with one 8-14 year old kid. Auditions will be held at the Masonic Lodge in Jefferson from 6-8pm tomorrow and Monday from 7-9pm. Rehearsals will begin February 2nd and the show dates are April 5th-7th at the Greene County High School. Check out the characters and their descriptions for the production below. Willum-25-45 year old architect who is stuck in a rut
Tansy-25-45-William’s girlfriend who is extremely kind and patient
Axel-25-45-Movie critic and Willum’s best friend. He is very sarcastic with a dry sense of humor
Rick- 25-45 Willum’s old army buddy who shows up unexpectedly.
Warnock-open age-Willum’s boss-grumpy and demanding
Clelia-open age-Warnock’s wife-the opposite of her husband
Thor/Tory-male or female-11-14 years old-Warnock and Clelia’s child-OBNOXIOUS
