Clover Kids in Adair County will be able to participate in some new events at the Adair County Fair this year.
The Fair is expanding the project areas available to Clover Kids by adding a bucket/bottle calf show, lamb/goat show and clothing selection event. The bucket/bottle calf show is a great way to add a non-competitive cattle project to give the Clover Kids more experience in that area, and to participate in the event they will need to enroll in 4-H Online before May 15th. Participants won’t receive premiums, but will receive participation awards. Calves used for the event must be born after January 1st, 2024 and be identified on 4-H Online by the time the Clover Kids must be enrolled.
The Clover Kids Bottle Lamb/Goat Show offers a similar experience, and has the same requirements. All animals must also be tagged, and tags can be picked up from the Adair County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Office. The Clover Kids Clothing Selection Event will offer a chance for kindergarten through 3rd grade students to get a head start when it comes to learning personal clothing preferences, communication skills and give experience in making decisions through their project. For any questions or additional information about the new projects, contact County Youth Coordinator Caroline Savage by email at csavage@iastate.edu or by phone at 641-743-8412.
