The frigid temperatures has postponed an area blood drive to early this week.

LifeServe Blood Center held a couple of blood drives last week in response to the January 4th tragedy at Perry High School. Two blood drives were held on both Monday and Wednesday at the Perry HyVee, with a third one scheduled for last Friday but due to the heavy snow that came in, the drive will be happening on Tuesday.
HyVee in Perry (1215 141st Street) will be hosting the blood drive from 9am-2pm on Tuesday. LifeServe released statistics from the previous blood drives last week. Between the two drives, there were 109 appointments scheduled, 46 first time donors, and 98 units of blood that were collected.
