Paton-Churdan’s girls and boys basketball games scheduled for tonight vs. Glidden-Ralston have been called off. P-C let classes out early today and all activities today and tonight have been cancelled or postponed.

Tomorrow night, the Rockets are home in a regularly scheduled girl/boy doubleheader with Coon Rapids-Bayard.

Tom Kennedy is the girls’ head coach and although his team is 0-11, the Rockets played their closest game of the season on Tuesday, a 33-21 loss to Ar-We-Va in Westside. That game was tied 15-15 at the half, and P-C freshman Alivya Smith led the Rockets by scoring 14 points, nearly the same amount of points the Rockets averaged per game entering the contest.

The P-C boys are 0-12 and Coach Greg Jacobs, like Coach Kennedy, has a very young team. Freshmen and sophomores dominate the roster, but the younger players are gathering valuable varsity experience. P-C lost to AWV on Tuesday night, 63-29 with 10 points by Phoenix Hartman and nine from Kinnick Steimel,
