All eyes were set on Iowa earlier this week as the Caucuses took place, and Iowa State Representative David Young is proud that Iowa was at the forefront of it.
The Presidential Election happens in November, which means it’s a busy time for the state of Iowa as the residents vote for respective candidates to represent the United States, with the June Primary yet to come. Young expresses how grateful he is that Iowa is the state to lead the charge with the Caucuses.
“I’m so happy that we are first in the nation. We’re in the middle of the country. We’re pragmatic, serious people. We really take this responsibility seriously.”
Young jokes that Iowa is not only the state that picks corn, but also chooses presidents. According to the Republican Party of Iowa, former President Donald Trump won the Iowa Caucus with over 51% of the votes, while Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was second with 21% and former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley was third with 19%.
