An event is coming up soon for women who own land or that farm.
Greene and Boone County ISU Extensions, along with the US Department of Agriculture and the Greene and Boone County Soil and Water Commissions are hosting a “Women, Land and Legacy” listening session at the Leonard Good Center in Ogden on Tuesday, January 23rd. Spokesperson Chris Henning describes the listening session as the attendees tell the agriculture entities what they want and need for programming, as well as network among each other.
“What we find is that women talking to other women gets the questions out there a lot differently than if you have an educator-type standing and lecturing, that they kind of process things a little bit differently. And so this isn’t a class persay, a lot of visiting with each other on, ‘Oh, I’ve run into this, have you run into that?’ Or, ‘Could you tell me more about that?’”
NRCS District Conservationist from Jackson County Lori Schnoor will be the facilitator. The information that is gathered from this event will be used to plan future programs and events to help women in obtaining their farming and conservation goals.
This is a free program and there are two different times, including 1-3pm and 6-8pm. While registration is not required, it is appreciated by clicking the link below, or contacting the Greene or Boone County Extension Office.
