The Panorama basketball teams faced off against the Van Meter Bulldogs resulting in a split decision. The Lady Panthers remain perfect, beating the Lady Bulldogs 55-30 while the boys fell short 68-56. The Lady Panthers started off a little slow only scoring 6 points, but held the Bulldogs to 4. After the first quarter the spring came back in the Panthers’ step as they went on to score in the double digits for the remainder of the game. Holding the Bulldogs to only 9 points in the fourth, while scoring 20 to win 55-30.
During the boys contest, the Panthers also came out of the gates slow which may have cost them the game, scoring only 8 points in the first compared to the Bulldogs’ 26. Although the Panthers outscored the Bulldogs in the second and fourth quarters, their efforts simply were not enough as the differential between the first quarter would be the nail in the coffin for the Panthers win streak.
The Lady Panthers keep their undefeated season alive moving up to 15-0 while the boys fall to 10-5. Both teams gear up to take on the Madrid Tigers today, tip off is at 6:15.
