Two Jefferson men were recently sentenced to probation for their roles in a drug bust by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.
According to court documents, 37-year-old Roger Burnie pled guilty to a Class D Felony for his third or subsequent offense for possession of a controlled substance violation. Thirty-nine-year-old Eric Rosenow pled guilty to two Class D Felonies for possession of a firearm by a felon and his third or subsequent offense for possession of methamphetamine. Both Burnie and Rosenow had their respective prison sentences suspended and each were placed on probation for three years with the Iowa Department of Correctional Services.

The charges stemmed from an investigation by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office that began on July 12, 2023. Following a tip about methamphetamine being manufactured at a home in Dana and then taken to a home in Jefferson where it was sold to other individuals. Search warrants were executed at Burnie and Rosenow’s residences.
Burnie was ordered to pay over $1,200 in court costs, court-appointed attorney fees, and a probation fee; while Rosenow was ordered to pay over $1,000 in court costs, court-appointed attorney fees and a probation fee.
