Greene County lost to Manson-Northwest Webster on Monday night in Manson in the opening round of Class 2A District 15 boys’ basketball. Coach Chris Nelson’s team finished with a 2-20 record after falling to the 16-7 Cougars by a 60-42 score. The game was heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoon valley radio.com. Monday’s game was the second this season vs. M-NW, both losses for the Rams, and both in Manson. M-NW led at the half 28-16.

M-NW was led by junior Logan Moline, one of 2A’s top scorers with an average of over 25 points per game. Moline had 29 points vs. the Rams last night. The Rams were led by seniors Brynley Ruzicka with 14 points and Nathan Behne at 13.

The Cougars made 17 of 47 shots from the floor while the Rams were 17 of 54. From three-point range, the Rams went six of 23, while the home team was five of 14. The biggest difference was at the free throw line where the Rams were two for eight and the Cougars went 21 of 28.

The game was the final one for Greene County in basketball for seniors Behne, Gabe Ebersole, Ruzicka, and Trey Schilling.
