Iowa’s Third Congressional District Congressman Zach Nunn hopes to bring comfort to Iowa citizens regarding school safety.

Congressman Nunn acknowledges that he was a leader on the “Save Act” bill that allows money to be invested in school systems of technology, school security, and infrastructure. However, Nunn says there’s more that needs to be accomplished, and the federal level is a great place to start. He suggests what can be done in the legislature.

“We need to pass legislation that I have now authored and led and are bringing to the floor as the lead to make sure our law enforcement, our first responders, have a plan on the books with our school districts and our communities, so we can be best prepared for any situation.”

Nunn credits Perry Schools for how well prepared the district was in the wake of the January 4th shooting incident. He goes on to say that preventative action is the best way to help avoid losing lives in the future.
