The Panorama Panthers girls basketball team hosted the West Central Valley Wildcats in Class 2A district play, and vanquished the Wildcats 72-30 moving the Panthers one step closer to the Wells Fargo Arena. The Panthers scored 32 points in the first half, with an impressive 22 points in the first quarter. The Panther offense came out with even more fire in the second half, scoring an impressive 20 points per quarter. The Panther defense also shinned throughout the entire contest, but in an impressive fashion the Panthers held the Wildcats to only 6 points per quarter in the first half. Coach Boettcher has this to say about their performance.
“With our last game being over a week ago, the girls were ready to get on the floor for a game.”
“The focus was on our defense…discipline and recognition.”
The Panorama Panthers advance in the regional tournament and move up to 21-1 so far in the season. The Panthers will host the ACGC Chargers on Friday with tip off starting at 7pm.
