The Dallas County Board of Supervisors will take some additional time to seek a candidate to serve on the Aging Resources Advisory Council.
One of the items was about searching for a candidate to serve on the Advisory Council and Board of Directors of Dallas County. Supervisor Mark Hanson received notice in an email that Nancy Nichols, who occupied the position, retired at the end of 2023. The Board decided to table the topic in order to have more time to seek candidates for the position.
The Board approved a resolution supporting the City of Dawson Small Communities Grant Application for $250,000. In addition, a resolution for the final plat of Deer Ridge Estates and Monster Acres were approved, as well as Fareway Stores request for withdrawal from an agricultural area. A budget workshop was done where Finance Director Rob Tietz discussed a Rural Basic Fund that grew significantly in the last five years. Tietz pointed out that back in fiscal year 2019, the amount was $568,863 and by the end of fiscal year 2025, it will nearly reach $8 million ($7,800,000).
