Dallas Center – Grimes boys wrestling will be having six wrestlers compete in the state tournament this morning, as they will be looking to move through the bracket in the 3A tournament.

The six wrestlers for DCG are  Avery Van Zelderen at 106, Blake Forrester at 120, Nick Esser at 132, Cayden Mayfield at 144, Lane Nelsen at 190, and Ryan Pertzsch at 285.

Van Zelderen is the 12 seed at 28-10, and will face the 21 seed Mariyon Norton out of Waterloo East. Forrester is the 19 seed at 20-10, and will face Nick McCallister out of Waukee. Esser is a 16 seed at 26-8 and will take on Andrew Roland of Ankeny Centennial. Mayfield is the 24 seed at 21-17 and will face the 9 seed Alex Bumba of Cedar Rapids Prairie. Nelsen is the 19 seed at 22-15 and will face Wyatt Weter of Newton who is the 14 seed. Pertzsch is seed 18 at 21-16 and will take on the 15 seed Zach Conlon of Dubuque Hempstead.
