The first year boys’ high school bowling team for the Greene County Rams finished in sixth place among eight teams at the Oskaloosa State Qualifying Meet on Tuesday. The Rams are in Class 2A due to a sharing program with Carroll, and in 2A, the top two teams and top eight individuals advance to the State Meet next week in Waterloo, but Greene County had no State qualifiers.
Keokuk won the team title with 3,205 pins, and Clinton also qualified for State as the runner-up with 3,136. Marion was third at 3,117, followed by Oskaloosa 3,104, Burlington 2,886, Greene County 2,825, Norwalk 2,608, and 2,586 for Mt. Pleasant.
The eighth and final individual series to get a state berth was 652. The Rams were led by Edrik Heisterkamp at 630, good for twelfth place, His high game was 235. Chase Fecher shot 579 with 578 for Carter Fecher and Lane Fields. Jace Wilson had 529 pins, followed by Teagan Chisholm at 478.
