The Guthrie County Board of Supervisor met in regular session Tuesday.
The Board heard from the Guthrie County Fair Board on improvements and repairs that they had been doing to the fairgrounds, with much of the work being done with volunteer hours from the Fair Board itself, and some electrical and plumbing work being contracted out. The Board of Supervisors also heard from the Airport Authority, who shared that they’re in the final stages of a design grant for the ramp area on the runway and that the hangars are almost full, with much space being rented out by individuals from the Ankeny and Des Moines areas.
The Board also heard from County Health Services Director Jotham Arber, and approved a letter of support for a Grow Greene County Grant that would be used to help maintain the Raccoon River Valley Trail in Guthrie County, along with Greene County. They also approved resolutions setting right of way and temporary easement purchase rates, along with the rate of compensation for fencing, and the assignment of a County held tax sale certificate for a parcel of land.
The Board then discussed an invoice for Precision Arc Welding, and looking to host a strategic planning meeting with County officials and department heads, with Region XII Council of Governments to mediate.
