The Perry Police Department partners with the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division to keep nicotine products out of the hands of underage citizens.

According to the Perry Police Department,  the program is known as I-Pledge and has been in existence since 2000, with the statewide tobacco compliance growing to 91%. Perry Police Officers will be completing compliance checks on local establishments under the program. The press release mentions that criminal penalties will be assessed to those who sell tobacco products to a minor, and will increase with each offense. In its partnership, the Perry Police Department dedicates themselves to continue to increase the compliance rate.
