
The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Tigers Boys Basketball team is gearing up for postseason play, which launches tonight in Adel.
ADM is coming off of a 18-3 season (14-1 inside the Raccoon Valley Conference) and Atlantic is 7-15 overall (4-6 in the Hawkeye Ten Conference). The Tigers and Trojans start postseason play tonight at 7pm. For the Tigers, they lost their first game of the season against Dallas Center Grimes, then proceeded to go on a 16-game winning streak from December 1st, 2023 to February 6th, 2024. ADM’s only lost in the Raccoon Valley Conference came on the road in Winterset, 80-70. Their other loss was a home game to Norwalk, 47-45.
The top three scorers of the season were Senior Adam Bryte with 336, Sophomore Hudson Lorensen with 330, and Senior Grant Rychnovsky with 222. Senior Rhylan Stine-Smith tallied 120 assist on the year and Bryte led the charge in the rebounding category with 160.
On Atlantic’s side, Senior Colton Rasmussen had 593 points during the regular season, Sophomore Gavin McLaren followed with 280 and Senior Nolan Waters racked up 209. Waters led in assist with 76 and the rebounding leader on the Trojans was McLaren with 150.
Tonight’s game begins Class 3A Substate 8 Quarterfinal. The game is set for 7pm at ADM High School. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring the broadcast on K1079 and on the KKRF Mobile app.
