Iowa’s Third Congressional Congressman Zach Nunn describes the nature of the “People Before Politics Act” bill in how it affects federal spending.

Congressman Nunn comments that he believes that the majority of the 435 members of Congress are trying to pass a budget to reduce federal spending. However, the People Before Politics Act would deny campaigning while the government is shut down unless completing work in Washington D.C. and not at a fundraiser or a cable news network. He emphasizes that representatives from both parties spend time expressing their anger over a government shut down rather than offering a solution. Nunn candidly tells Raccoon Valley Radio that it’s a waste of time.

“We don’t have time for that, the American people don’t have time for that. We need to deliver a budget that matters and a budget that’s not going to cost us more money, because everybody knows when the government shuts down, we will open back up, and that will cost the taxpayer billions more than it would if they would’ve done their job in Washington and passed a budget.”

Nunn implies that he is very passionate about this topic in order to hold those, who he calls “obstructionists,” accountable for their actions.
