
The AC/GC Chargers boys basketball team was handed their final loss of the season Tuesday night.
The Chargers faced off against the Lynnville-Sully Hawks at Des Moines Lincoln High School, and the teams play a close first half, with the Hawks outscoring the Chargers 11-5 in the first, and 18-15 in the second quarter to go into halftime up 29-20. The Chargers came back and outscored the Hawks 16-13 in the third quarter, but a 18-10 surge in the final quarter led Lynnville-Sully to the 60-46 victory over AC/GC.
Seniors Anthony Solorzano and Lance Bunde scored a combined 10 points, with juniors Payton Policky, Jathan South and Noah Kading scoring the bulk of the team’s points, making 9, 12 and 13 respectively. Sophomore Joe Crawford rounded out the scoring with 2 points of his own. With the season over, the Chargers will look to refocus, and then begin spring sports.
