Panorama School District is preparing for a big project.

In the February school board meeting, the Board discussed bids for their north parking lot project. Superintendent Kasey Huebner says that there was a lot of interest in the project, with 17 bids coming in from different parts of the state.

“We had bids from Urbandale, Des Moines, Adair, Guthrie Center, Pela, Atlantic. So we had bids everywhere. And, we eventually awarded the bid to Jordison Construction out of Urbandale. They were about $240,000 under our estimated bid.”

Huebner mentions that the engineer that is overseeing the project said that this is the highest amount of bids he’s seen come in for a project, with his previous record being 11. Huebner adds that the project won’t begin until after the current school year ends, and that the aim is to have it finished shortly before the 2024-25 school year begins.
