A ribbon-cutting was held earlier this week for a Jefferson-based business that recently expanded its outreach.

Home State Bank celebrated the opening of its Polk City location this past Thursday with a ribbon-cutting. President and CEO Bob Allen tells Raccoon Valley Radio this year is the 90th anniversary of Home State Bank, but for the first time, they expanded their footprint outside of Jefferson. Former President and CEO Sid Jones previously said that Home State Bank was building relationships in the Des Moines metro area, while leasing an office space in Ankeny until they found a suitable location in Polk City. He added that the community was similar in size and culture to that of Jefferson.

Allen says the Polk City location has been open since January 18th and it is fully staffed with ten employees, with the possibility of adding more in the future. He notes that the Polk City location is a full-service bank with a full line of banking products and services, and is located at 101 East Bridge Road.
