For at least the past 30 years, an Early Bird track & field meet was scheduled for late March on the Linduska Field track in Jefferson. The meet will still be held, but the coed event has been moved back to Friday, April 5. Spring weather in Iowa can be unpredictable, and the late March date has been weathered out more times than not in recent seasons. The Rams still have outdoor meets on the schedule in March, just not in Jefferson. New to the outdoor schedule is the Simpson College High School Classic on March 19 in Indianola.

The indoor track & field season starts this Monday, March 4 for Coach Chad Morton’s boys inside the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls at the A.D. Dickinson Relays. Coach Derek Merk’s Greene County girls compete on Tuesday, March 5, also at the A.D. Dickinson Relays.
