The Panorama Panther girls defeated the Grundy Center Spartans in the Class 2A Quarterfinals match up in the 2024 Girls State Basketball tournament, securing the Panthers place in the semifinals matchup against the 22-0 Westwood Rebels with the game starting at 11:45AM. If the Panthers can defeat the Rebels, they will face the winner between Dike-New Hartford and Sioux Central in the State Championship match up. If the Panthers are defeated by the Rebels, their season will come to a close.

The Panthers will need to remain quick and aggressive when playing against the Rebels, and will have to capitalize on every rebound opportunity. When asked about the Panther game plan for the Rebels, Coach Boettcher said, “I think it’s going to come down to rebounding. Rebounding and you know, the pressure that our guards can put on their guards. That’s going to be the the style of game that we play.” Boettcher plans on letting the Panther girls do what they do best, play fast and aggressive, as she said, “We gotta run the floor….just controlling the paint, points in the paint and getting the hand up. ”
