Now that it is March, individuals should be reminded that it’s also Problem Gambling Awareness Month.

New Opportunities Problem Gambling Champion Dorinda Wehde says that for the month, she has “Gambling in the Workplace Toolkit” information packets to help employers prevent gambling from becoming something that their employees may suffer from. She mentions that the packets contain information to help identify signs and symptoms of problem gambling, the responsibilities of gambling practices and establishes what a safe environment for gambling is.

Wehde explains that there are also tips to help mitigate potential harm from gambling by dispelling the myths, linking those impacted by problem gambling to support and treatment options, teaches true odds and risks and promotes limit setting and other tools for responsible gambling.
