The first track & field meet of the season for the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Girls gets underway this afternoon in Cedar Falls.

The Tiger Boys began there season yesterday at the annual Dickinson Relays at the UNI-Dome and now the girls will follow suit today. The girls are coming off last season where the 4×200 meter relay team won the state title. Senior Makayla Crannell was a runner up in both the 100 and 200 meters. Girls Head Coach Bart Mueller tells Raccoon Valley Radio how impactful the leadership from his upperclassmen are.

“We’ve kind of have had that approach. Leave your legacy, train up the next group, ya know, the new girls that are coming out and our captains I think have taken that on and they really work at it, and do a good job leading the younger girls.”
