GCDC East Business Park is no longer the site of a Kading housing project
A proposed housing project in Jefferson has been temporarily put on hold.
Jefferson City Administrator Scott Peterson says the Kading Properties project that was originally being looked at in the Greene County Development Corporation East Business Park is being reassessed. He points out the location that is south of Highway 30 on Gallup Road is no longer going to proceed.
The project that was proposed was between 100 to 200 rental units in multiple different structures, from apartment-style to townhomes. Part of the project that Kading Properties was looking for was for the City of Jefferson to extend infrastructure about 500 feet to the property with water, sewer and storm sewer, and installing an access road for over $1 million. However, Peterson is still hopeful about keeping Kading Properties.
“Talking about this as a reassessment because we certainly would love to still look at a Kading project to come to our community, but it would be finding a different location for that to happen. And really that’s where it is right now.”
Peterson is unaware of any new location for the project within the community at this time.
