
Tuesday was the girls’ portion of the A.D. Dickinson Relays inside the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls. Coach Derek Merk had his Greene County high school girls participating in their season opening event, one that featured schools of all sizes and all parts of the state in a one class, non-scoring meet.
The highest finish for the Rams came in the high jump where junior Payton Kokenge cleared five feet even, good for a seventh place tie among 77 jumpers. The height tied her career best. Sophomore Kaycee Pittman was fifteenth in the 400 meter dash in 1:04.02. There were 157 runners in the 400.
Greene County’s boys were in Monday’s A.D. Dickinson Relays to open their season. The boys will compete tomorrow in Ames on the Iowa State Campus tomorrow inside the Lied Student Recreation Center, and the girls will do so on Friday.
