Clark Wicks, Perry Schools Superintendent, gives a glimpse about the progress with the January 4th shooting school funds.

The Perry School District opened an account at Raccoon Valley Bank to raise funds for the victims and their families following the January 4th shooting at Perry High School. Superintendent Wicks tells Racoon Valley Radio that the funds have not yet been distributed to the families as a trust fund is working to be established. He acknowledges that the school board is working diligently to donate funds to the families.

“We’re working on that, as soon as the attorney’s have that ready to go, we want to get those out to those families. I know at some point, for some, it seems like a long time, but it’s been a relatively short time when you’re talking about funds coming in and then funds going out.”

Wicks details that all medical expenses the families have needed are being covered by the school’s insurance. Wicks reiterates that the funds will be distributed once the trust funds are established and that trustees are assigned.
