
Dallas Center – Grimes boys basketball season ended this past week with a 20-4 record and a trip to the 4A state tournament, and the Mustangs were able to count on a lot of terrific players to help them find success this past year.
The Mustangs were led in scoring by Calix Cahill who averaged 16.4 points per game while Jackson Green was right behind him at 16.0 points per game. Johnathan Howard was the 3rd player in double figure scoring averaging 12 a game. Cahill was able to average 8.0 rebounds per game, with Howard behind him at 3.7 rebounds per game and Brogan Fuller just a shade behind both at 3.6. The Mustangs were able to have six different players average at least two assists per game and were led by two of the best in the state in Jaden Jones at 4.5 a game and Tate Perrin right behind him at 4.1 assists per game. Perrin was able to lead the team in steals a game at 1.5 and Fuller led the team in blocks a game at 1.3.
DCG will look for some great numbers for next season, and will be proud of all of the accomplishments that they were able to put together this year.
