As the 2024 legislative session continues, Representatives and Senators are seeing bills that they drafted come into their Committees.

Representative for District 23 Ray Sorensen is the Chair of the Economic Growth Committee, and recently worked on a bill he drafted, based on voting protection bills from other states. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio about the bill that he’s received help from the other side of the aisle on.

“Representative JD Schultz and I have put together an amendment for my AI (artificial intelligence and elections bill. And so that’s just a bipartisan bill that starts to look at how artificial intelligence can negatively affect elections.”

Sorensen adds that they have been working with the Secretary of State’s Office as well, as they look to keep elections open to those who can and do want to run for office, but also penalizes those who would try to use deceptive or synthetic media in a negative way when it comes to elections.
