The all time wins leader in Perry wrestling just finished his junior year at University of Northern Iowa. Kaleb Olejniczak finished the season 9-6 and now has a record of 21-17 in his collegiate career. UNI finished the Big 12 tournament last weekend where they took 5th place. Highlights from this season for Olejniczak include third place at the Daktronics Open at 174 pounds and a tie at third place at the Jim Koch Open at 157 pounds. Seven panthers qualified for the National Tournament in Kansas City that starts on Thursday March 21st. The former Bluejay wasn’t one of them.
Olejniczak has wrestled sparingly for the Panthers since he stepped foot on campus in 2019. His first year saw him redshirt and then his second season would be shortened due to covid. He would see the mat 19 times in his third year, he wouldn’t compete in his fourth year, and he just wrapped up his fifth year at UNI.
