The Perry Jayettes continue to practice for the upcoming soccer season. Bo Schatzberg enters his third year as head coach. He says this is the fastest team he’s ever coached. He is also excited with all the multisport athletes on the team. “We have a couple State wrestlers, a couple volleyball players, and a couple basketball players. I think that’s a pretty good competitive thing for us.” Coach expects to build off of the 6-11 season from last year.
Week 2 of practice has some hurdles with the girls back in school. Flexibility is a key this week and so is taking care of their bodies says Coach Schatzberg. “Reminding them to eat good lunches and to hydrate.” Later this week, they will be in Panora for a scrimmage before the season begins on March 25th against Des Moines Christian.
