It’s very early in the 2024 Iowa high school track & field season, but so far several boys on head coach Chad Morton’s Greene County team are off to good starts. That includes two sophomores with individual performances that rank them in the top 10 of athletes in tenth grade statewide.

Nick Madsen has the fifth fastest 200 meter time among sophomores in Iowa at 23.29 seconds. Madsen ranks tenth in the 400 at :53.61. Drew Wolterman’s 2:07.07 800 meter time is seventh among Iowa sophomores. Those two, plus sophomore Broc Stream and senior Nathan Behne ran the 1,600 meter medley relay in 3:40.18, which ranked fifth statewide in all classes for times posted on the statistical website Bound Iowa by 12 p.m. March 20.

Junior Isaac Carman ranks sixth in the discus throw at 141′ 10″.
