A Dexter man was sentenced to prison for violating his probation after stealing lottery tickets.

According to court documents, 21-year-old Phillip Dolezal pled guilty to a Class D Felony for Iowa Lottery violation-theft of ticket. He had a five year prison sentence suspended and was instead ordered to serve ten years in prison for violating his probation from a different case that he had a deferred judgment on for a felony for first degree theft.

The felony for the Iowa Lottery violation charge stemmed from an incident on October 6th. Dolezal was working as a Casey’s General Store employee and video surveillance showed him taking money out of a register and stealing lottery tickets.
