The Carroll Coed Relays were held on Monday at Carroll Athletic Field with Greene County among the participating schools. Coach Derek Merk’s girls placed last among 10 teams while Coach Chad Morton’s boys’ tied for third in a field of 11 squads. Carroll won both team titles.

Among the highlights for the Rams was Isaac Carman’s second place finish in the boys’ discus throw. The junior shattered his previous career best throw with a toss of 156′ 3″. That distance puts Carman as a contender to qualify for the Drake Relays, which accepts the top 24 distances in the state through performances of April 18. Sophomore Drew Wolterman won the 800 meter run in 2:07.99 and sophomore Nick Madsen was second in the 100 meter dash in 11.47 seconds. The sprint medley relay was second in 1:38.09 with senior Trey Schilling, junior Nick Stream,  Madsen, and Wolterman.

Juniors Daniele Madsen and Emma Ewalt led throwers for the Greene County girls. Madsen threw a season best 35′ 1-1/2″ in the shot put and Ewalt set a new personal record in the discus at 109′ 3″.  Ewalt was third and Madsen placed fourth.
