The West Central Valley FFA Chapter improved the greenhouse they use for growing plants last fall and they are seeing some of the benefits.

Advisor Molly Dolch says that students in her agricultural education and Industrial Technology Instructor David Doely’s industrial technology classes did the work to build the new 30 foot by 60 foot greenhouse, with 20 students involved in the build. She mentions that these students learned construction skills, how to read blueprints, following directions and working with others, and completed the build in all sorts of fall weather.

In the second semester, Dolch explains that students in the greenhouse management course have been busy working in the greenhouse, planting and caring for plants that the FFA Chapter will sell in their annual spring plant sale. The sale starts April 18th and runs through the end of May, with the greenhouse to be open from 3:30-6pm weekdays and 9-11:30am on Saturdays.
