The Greene County Medical Center added another individual in an area that is a growing need for service in the community.
Paton native and Licensed Master Social Worker Madisyn Behrens was hired to work with the Behavioral Health Team. She says she always knew she wanted to help people and thought the route for her after high school was to become a doctor. Behrens explains that in college she discovered medical school wasn’t for her, but she gravitated toward social work.
Behrens went on to earn an associate’s degree from Des Moines Area Community College, and then a bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of Northern Iowa. She recently obtained her master’s degree from Campbellsville University in Kentucky.
Behrens notes that she was drawn to behavioral health to focus her social work on by helping clients and being an advocate for and on behalf of them. She can see patients from ages 12 and up. To schedule an appointment with Behrens, contact the medical center at 515-386-2488.
