The Stuart Public Library has a fun conservation themed event tomorrow.

Librarian Rachel Majerus says that they will be holding a rain barrel workshop tomorrow. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio how the library came to host the class.

“There was a business that approached us and said that it was a class that they were able to offer, and we thought that went along well with our April events. And we have a handful of people that have said that they’re interested in making their own rain barrel. It promotes conservation, just, healthy living all around, and we’re just happy to offer the space and provide the opportunity.”

Majerus mentions that those interested will need to pay a $50 fee for materials. She adds that those attending will need weather appropriate clothing, as working on the 55 gallon drums will most likely occur outside, and will also need leather or heavy duty work gloves and protective eyewear. Those in attendance will be able to make their own rain barrel to take home, and also receive information telling them how to use it. One class will begin at 9am, and the other will begin at 10:30am.
