Perry High School will not have to pay for prom this year thanks to a generous donation from JCPenney.

The Bluejays were featured on Friday’s edition of Good Morning America, being selected as one of four schools around the country to be presented with a check for $50,000 from JCPenny to help pay for prom. Perry High School Principal Brad Snowgren tells Raccoon Valley Radio that it’s a positive way to end the year.

“It’s going to be great for our students to end the year on a high note. Again, all the students are going to be able to go this year to prom. They get to ride charter buses instead of school buses, so they really get to take that next level prom and it’s really exciting to see our kids get something really good like this.”

Snowgren explains that the donation gives those students that weren’t able to afford prom, the opportunity to attend. Prom for Perry is set for Saturday, April 27th.
