
Greene County High School senior Jack Hansen was meet medalist on Saturday at the Rams’ 18 hole golf tournament. The event is the first of its kind for the Rams with seven teams playing nine holes at The Hill west of Grand Junction and nine holes at Jefferson Community Golf Course.
Hansen shot 78 to lead the Rams with senior Nathan Behne at 86, followed by sophomore Drew Wolterman at 88, and 90 from sophomore Nathan Towers. Greene County tied for the second lowest team score, but was third on tie-breaking criteria. Hansen was medalist by three strokes.
Roland-Story (Story City) was the team champion with 333 strokes, with the Rams and Coon Rapids-Bayard both at 342, followed by 355 from Grand View Christian, 363 for Southeast Valley (Gowrie), 373 by Ogden and 374 for South Central Calhoun (Lake City).
Ram coach Kyle Kinne told Raccoon Valley Radio both courses were in excellent condition. The weather for April 13 was about as good as it gets with a high tempeatures reaching 80 degrees under sunny skies and southerly winds.
