The Stuart Public Library has recently received a couple of grants.

Librarian Mary McColloch says that the first grant they received is from the American Library Association’s Library Transforming Communities program. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio what the plans for the $10,000 includes.

“But a large part of the funds will be spent, we’re going to automate the restroom doors in the lobby, so a large part of the funds will go for that. But we also wanted to talk to the community and wee, because some disabilities are not visible, so we may be overlooking ways that maybe the library could be better.”

McColloch mentions the second grant is from the Guthrie County Foundation for $3,500. She adds that funds from this grant along with some from the Stuart Library Foundation will be used to replace computers with new ones.
