Greene County hosts the annual Ram Relays today at Linduska Field in Jefferson starting at 4:30 p.m. The coed track & field meet has eight girls and eight boys squads taking part with both girls and boys from Greene County, Perry, ACGC, Webster City, Carroll, Kuemper Catholic (Carroll), and Boone in the field. Ft. Dodge Senior High has its girls team and Ft. Dodge St. Edmond has its boys competing.

There are just four days left for high school performances to be submitted for Drake Relays qualification, so its likely teams will be putting emphasis on those events that have not yet qualified, but are in contention for those coveted spots. The Greene County boys are on the outside looking in with junior discus thrower Isaac Carman entering the week with the 25th best distance, but only the top 24 qualify for Drake. The Rams will also be looking to improve their times in the distance medley and 4 x 100 meter relays, which sit just outside the places needed to qualify. Drake allows 24 medley relays and ninety-six 4 x 100 meter relays.

The forecast for Jefferson today calls for warm and windy conditions with sunny skies.
