Greene County’s high school track & field teams hope the weather today cooperates so they can compete at Carroll Athletic Field for the Tiger Relays. It’s a 14 team coed meet and today is the last day performances count for Drake Relays qualification. The annual Drake Relays April 25-26-27 at Drake Stadium in Des Moines.

The Greene County event that has the best chance of qualifying for Drake is the boys’ 4 x 100 meter relay where the Relays accept the fastest 96 entries. As of Wednesday afternoon on the statistics website Bound Iowa the Rams had the 90th fastest time, but just .08 of a second separates Greene County and the 97th fastest, so the margin is very thin.

Today’s weather forecast calls for wet weather throughout the state, so when it rains and how much it rains could very well dictate how many meets scheduled for today in Iowa will actually be held.
