Competitive soccer was played last night between Greene County and Perry. The Bluejays grabbed the win in extra time against a talented Ram team, 3-2. The victory means Perry is the Heart of Iowa Conference Champion. The first time in the short stint of being in the conference. This is the 8th conference title in the history of the program, going back to the Raccoon River days. Perry can now focus on making a return appearance to State, another goal this squad had. Perry ends the week with an 8-3 record and will be at Knoxville on April 30th. The Bluejays will also look to climb in next week’s poll. They currently sit at 7.
The Jayettes rebounded nicely after a loss to Nevada on Monday. Last night they took care of business against a winless Greene County team, 9-0. Perry improves to 3-6 and will be at Southeast Polk Friday night.
