The Bock Family Foundation held a presentation on Monday to award close to 30 businesses in Dallas County grants to help independent projects.
The foundation gathered the businesses to converge at the Perry Public Library as they gave 29 recipients grants in the amount of $100,590. The 29 businesses each had representatives accepting the awards and providing a brief overview of where the money is going to benefit. According to a press release, the Bock Foundation has awarded grants totaling more than $2,600,000 (2.6 million) since 2002.
Some of this year’s recipients include the Perry School Foundation, The City of Perry, the McCreary Community Building, Perry Lutheran Homes, DeSoto Fire Department, Dallas County Hospital, and more. See the full list of recipients below.
- Dallas County Conservation Board $4,000 to construct Bird Blind at Voas Nature Area
2. Perry Public Library $1,900 for Kidsfest 2024
3. McCreary Community Building $1,991 to procure advanced CPR manikins
4. City of Perry $5,000 to install synthetic ice rink at Perry Solar Pavilion
5. Dallas County Hospital Foundation $3,000 to replenish Blessing Box
6. Dallas County Hospital Foundation $6,800 towards new otoscopes/ophthalmoscopes for clinics
7. The Perry School Foundation $5,000 for Bluejay sculptures
8. St Patrick Catholic School $2,600 to replace Kindergarten & 1st grade classroom furniture
9. Perry Middle School Band $2,000 to purchase Concert tuba
10. Perry High School Music Department $2,500 towards trip to Memphis/Nashville April 2024
11. P.A.C.E.S. $7,500 towards Before/After Summer Program
12. Perry Area Child Development Center $4,500 for Scholarships
13. Everybody Wins!Iowa $2,500 for PowerRead Program Perry Elementary School
14. Perry Iowa Rotary Club Foundation Inc $1,354 for Laptop & Projector for presentations
15. Perry Area Emergency Food Council $2,500 for Pantry Farmers Market Dollars
16. Raccoon River Pet Rescue $2,000 for veterinary sedation/anesthesia patient monitor
17. Perry Girls Softball Association $3,000 towards new equipment shed
18. Friends of Hotel Pattee, Inc. $5,000 to replace commercial double convection oven
19. Perry Lutheran Home $5,000 for evacuation chairs for Spring Valley & King’s Garden
20. Perry Alano Club $8,545 for exterior siding, door & lighting
21. City of Bouton $6,000 towards Bouton Trailhead
22. Minburn Community Betterment Group $800 for Meet Me in Minburn concert series
23. De Soto Fire Department $5,000 for replacement of gas powered equipment with battery-operated
24. AHeinz57Pet Rescue & Transport Inc. $2,000 for Crisis Assistance Fund
25. Panther Creek Church of the Brethren $3,600 for Blessing Box
26. Van Meter Public Library $2,000 to purchase new furniture
27. Adel DeSoto Soccer Club $1,000 for backstop replacement net, referee kits, soccer goals
28. Good Samaritan Food Pantry $2,500 for tent, table, flags, chairs for Farmers Market and other events
29. Brenton Arboretum $1,000 for mobile programming
