
The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Boys Track & Field teams competed in Des Moines for Drake Relays over the weekend, as they broke a meet record in the 4×100.
The Tigers represented running against some of the best schools in Iowa and following a three hour rain delay, ADM came out on top running a Drake Relay’s best 41.38 in the 4×100 meter relay. The team consisted of all seniors: Aiden Flora, Tyler Gelhaar, Zach Lohmann, and Brevin Doll. The Tigers edged out Cedar Rapids Kennedy, Iowa City West, and Ankeny as all those teams ran under 42 seconds. The boys 4×200 meter relay was won by ADM at 1:27.34 with Senior Grant Rychnovsky, Lohmann, Doll, and Flora.
Lohmann was also seventh overall in the 400 meter hurdles, achieving a school record of 53.28 seconds and Flora and Doll went two-three in the 100 meter finals. In other events, Senior Drew Hickey racked up 11th place in the shot put (50-7.00) and Junior Kyler Chapman finished 14th overall in the high jump (6-1.00).
The Tigers will be back in action on Wednesday afternoon traveling to Carlisle High School for the Raccoon River Conference Meet, starting at 4pm.
